The Sandal That Started It All
In 1959, our founder Dr. William Scholl changed the game with a wooden sandal that sparked a fashion revolution. The now iconic Original Sandal has been a favorite for fashion’s top influencers ever since, a perpetually recognizable fashion icon spanning generations in pop cultural relevance. First spotted in 1965 on the world’s first supermodels, the sandal has continued to appear at the forefront of fashion, including an appearance on Isaac Mizrahi’s runway, on the feet of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw, and on Jennifer Aniston and other celebrities. Most recently, a collaboration with Kate Spade created a must-have capsule collection combining the iconic sandal with the unique whimsical Kate Spade style.

With every purchase of a pair of Original Collection shoes, we’re donating a tree to Trees for the Future to offset carbon emissions and help impoverished families around the world plant trees for a better life. More than 135,000 trees have been planted to date.
